Orbit No.4 is less of a pendant and more of a showcase for one of the world’s finest, rarest, most exclusive diamonds. A mesmerising 0.23ct or 0.50ct centrepiece creates a true centre of attention, suspended between 16 miniature versions of itself. All are the highest quality diamonds the world has to offer – and they will outshine anything else out there.

The finest of fine detail

As with the entire Montluc collection, Orbit No.4 has been crafted the way high class jewellery should be. Every detail is there for a reason. Take the subtle air gap between the main diamond and its satellites. This has the effect of making each separate component stand out rather than blend in, creating the impression of a centrepiece floating in thin air.

The reverse has been as thought through and perfectly finished as the front. Individual squares are delicately cut into the gold to reveal the base of each diamond, so even the parts not immediately visible are a work of art too.

Creating the Montluc sparkle

The triangular finish to the prongs not only adds to the overall elegance. It is also carefully engineered to keep the diamond securely in place while using the minimum amount of gold, revealing the largest possible surface area and optimising the reflection of light.

Most diamonds are graded from Poor to Excellent on official GIA (Gemological Institute of America) cut grades. Montluc, by contrast, only ever uses the very finest standard of quality that goes one step further. Two, actually.

The Triple Excellent cut ensures that our diamonds are all impeccably polished, perfectly cut and precisely aligned, balancing the reflection of light and amplifying its radiance.

Montluc only uses the world’s finest diamonds – in fact, we select only the top 3%. Needless to say, the quality of our gold is equally uncompromising. While most gold pendants are cast, Orbit No.4 is sculpted from a solid 18k pd135 gold bar, which is up to three times harder. So it lasts longer, wears better and looks perfect even under the closest inspection.
