The signature of high class jewellery

The gallery cut works like two earrings in one: an outer layer of sculpted solid white gold showcases the diamonds, with a second inner layer providing support. Very complex and time consuming, this level of detailing is extremely rare.

Yet it allows us to finish the inside as perfectly as the outside – the traditional signature of the highest class jewellery.

At the same time, the gallery cut provides more strength using less gold, making Ellipse No.1 extremely light and exceptionally comfortable in your ear – with an incredibly secure clasping system making sure they stay there.

Even the smallest, most subtle touches are thought through and beautifully finished. Look closely and you will notice that even the tiny supports between the two layers are finessed into cylinders to enhance the streamlined look. We don’t have to do it. Most diamonds are graded from Poor to Excellent on official GIA (Gemological Institute of America) cut grades. Montluc, by contrast, only ever uses the very finest standard of quality that goes one step further. Two, actually.

Montluc uses only the world’s finest diamonds – in fact, we select only the top 3%. Needless to say, the quality of our gold is equally uncompromising. While most gold earrings are cast, Ellipse No.1 are sculpted from a solid 18k pd135 gold bar, which is up to three times harder. So it lasts longer, wears better and looks perfect even under the closest inspection.
